Nicola F. Serianni has over fifteen years of litigation experience and is a member of Black & Gerngross’ complex civil litigation team where she brings multi-disciplinary trial and appellate experience to business and regulatory disputes.

Before joining Black & Gerngross Nicola’s legal practice focused on complex litigation in matters involving insurance, class actions, and pharmaceutical products liability. Nicola’s career as a litigator began in the judiciary where she served as a law clerk to trial court Judge Toby L. Dickman followed by clerkships in the Pennsylvania Superior Court for the Honorable Richard B. Klein and the Honorable Anne E. Lazarus. These experiences developed her strong legal analysis and writing skills that have become hallmarks of her legal representation as well as impart key insights that make her a successful appellate advocate.

Nicola’s pro bono work has continued uninterrupted since college where she volunteered as an inner-city tutor, and began a legal focus in law school, where she graduated with Pro Bono Distinction. Previously, she participated in the Mortgage Foreclosure Volunteer Program where she negotiated with lenders on client restructurings to avoid foreclosure and regularly volunteers her time and legal expertise to the underserved communities in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. Nicola also serves on the Board of the Township of Whitpain Human Relations Commission and the Board of FNC Philly, a non-profit organization that provides fiduciary oversight for charitable projects.
